From early age Maggie Q displayed her athletic prowess during high school by competing in track and field, cross country, and swimming. In 1997, she graduated and pursued a college education on an athletics scholarship, aiming to study veterinary science. Unfortunately, she had to leave college after a year due to financial constraints.

After her educational journey took an unexpected turn, Maggie Q embarked on an exciting career path. Acting on the advice of a friend, she ventured into the world of modeling at the young age of 17.

Initially starting in Tokyo, Japan, she moved to Taipei, Taiwan, before settling in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, Maggie Q caught the attention of martial arts legend Jackie Chan, who became her mentor and encouraged her to perform her stunts.

Film Career

Her film career took off with her professional acting debut in the 2000 horror film “Model from Hell” in Hong Kong. She then appeared in the science-fiction action sequel “Gen-Y Cops.” Maggie Q continued to star in various Hong Kong films such as “Naked Weapon,” “The Trouble-Makers,” and “Magic Kitchen.”

Then, from 2016 to 2019, she took on the role of CIA case officer Hannah Wells in the political thriller series “Designated Survivor” for all three seasons. Most recently, in 2022, Maggie Q had a main role in the short-lived Fox series “Pivoting,” showcasing her versatility as an actress.
